What's new in Green Hills Park?

Wow, what a great week for the park!
  • The grassy berms were installed!  This project was put together through the hard work and generous donations of Greg Dew (Division 2 Constructors), Wood Caldwell, and Joe Hodgson.  Greg's company brought in 38 truckloads of dirt (approx 542 cubic yards) on Tuesday.
  • Thank you to Greg, Wood, and Joe for helping the park create a natural play area where kids can engage in imaginative play and families can picnic.  The next part of the natural play area will be the log obstacle course. An estimate is being prepared by a local landscaping company so that we can raise the funds.
  • Speaking of fundraising,  we need your help to pay for the sod on the berms.  We are opting for sod, instead of seed, so that the kids can play on them sooner.  We were able to raise $750 through a Facebook campaign on Giving Tuesday, but the cost will be closer to $1,500.  Thank you for everyone who already contributed. If you aren't on Facebook or didn't have a chance to donate, we would, of course, appreciate any contribution you can make now (click on this link).  Thank you for your support of this great neighborhood park.

There were tons of renovations that happened this year. Well, not everything was great, but for the most part, I like it. As a member of this community, I am just happy to be able to see all of the changes. I do not want to live in a place that is never going to change, that just does not bode well for me. I hope to see more change in our community in the years to come, I really do.
